What is HLTAID011 Provide First Aid?

HLTAID011 is a nationally accredited unit of competency that equips participants with core first aid skills. You’ll learn how to respond to emergencies, provide life support (CPR/AED), manage wounds, fractures, medical conditions, and more — until help arrives. Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a Statement of Attainment for HLTAID011, including HLTAID009 (CPR) and HLTAID010 (basic emergency life support).

To successfully complete HLTAID011, learners must:

  • Demonstrate 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on adult & infant manikins 

  • Perform simulated first aid responses (scenarios) in a controlled environment 

  • Show competency in applying first aid to a range of injuries, illnesses, and emergencies 

  • Complete the theory assessment (online / quiz)

  • Meet the physical requirements (kneeling, bending, applying pressure, etc.) — if you have any limitations, talk to us about reasonable adjustments

Prerequisites / suitability:

  • No formal prerequisites

  • Age requirement (16 yrs)

  • Basic English literacy / comprehension

  • Must bring valid photo ID

  • Ability to kneel, bend, perform CPR on the floor
